Falling leaves

Well, it is not time yet to think about the fall when spring has barely sprung, but this cool Stihl calender will certainly get you in the mood. Well, mostly in the mood to buy a leaf blower. Each day of this Stihl calender automatically drops off and ends up on the floor. Nice

He's got a big one

We might not really want to know more details about Hung: He's Got A Big One, because the title of this show in New Zealand seemingly hits the nail on the head with the topic of that show. Just don't show us more.

The news

It is very important to uphold standards when reporting the news and below are detailed instructions on how to do it correctly.

Have a break

"Have a break - Have a KitKat" is a well known slogan indeed, but in the case of the marketing stunt in Auckland, NZ below it appears that the tagline was "Have a break - Have a KitKat chair." It is certainly not bad timing when you are heading to a free concert and are able to snag a cool free chair on top of that. Hopefully though you left your two left hands at home.

This Too Shall Pass

Well, This Too Shall Pass is the song title of the OK Go video below and it managed to go to almost 1,000,000 views since March 1, thanks in part to corporate sponsorship by State Farm. Eventually This viral video (yes it can be called viral now) Too Shall Pass, but for now it is spreading nicely like wildfire.

Fun games for all involved, right?

Think, think, think

This new biker safety ad out of the UK is based on the premise that if you knew someone personally you would act differently, or in this case - more cautious. So think biker safety and think about Tom, Dave, Paul, Amy etc. This new marketing campaign below is quite a bit more palpable than the Think Biker PSA from 2006.

Nope, this isn't a dating service ad. :-)

Not the end we imagined

It appears that Nolan's Cheddar will give you Herculean strength, so eat up. After all you never know when you will get trapped

Undercover Boss gripe

The new CBS show Undercover Boss appears to be very blatant marketing. Even when you look beyond the concept that employees have no idea what their CEO looks like, a new part time employee at 7-11 goes on his first day from cleaning windows straight to calling the 7-11 headquarters instead of the manager. That is very real. So how much would Guerrilla Communication have to pay CBS for our boss Herbert Krabel to go undercover for an hour in prime time? We'll call him Fritz and give him a new look.

Twitter is on a roll

According to a recent post on holykaw it appears that there are now 50 million tweets a day. That is quite an amazing jump from about 5000 tweets a day in 2007. So where will twitter be 2 years from now?

KLM comfort

A guy sitting in the Amsterdam Airport got quite a bit of attention because people didn't see his chair. The marketing stunt for KLM's Economy Comfort puzzled passersby as they wondered how it was done. We really don't care about those details, we are mostly wondering though if on a KLM flight you get to have as much elbow room as the guy in this guerrilla marketing scenario. Plus we are quite sure that he couldn't easily get up if he needed to.

Find that foot

To promote the opening of the new Daniel Unger Sports store in Bad Saulgau, Germany, the team around World Champion triathlete Daniel Unger distributed laminated "feet" throughout the region and offered prizes to those who will return those feet to the store. Happy feet hunting.

Massage that message

Sometimes we have to massage a message to make it clearer, and in the case of the business card of Jackie Wright you have to massage the business card with your fingers to actually see the details. Make your customers work in your shoes, nice.

Are we square?

Some of us would struggle without smart phones and the dependency is not going to diminish any time soon. Soon you'll be able to use that smart phone to accept credit card purchases from your customers, friends and neighbors. So Square Up.

The secret ...

What is the secret to happiness? Do you want to know? Well, we want to know whether this is just an interesting art installation or guerrilla marketing for better banner material. :-)

Good eats

Well, maybe we could say Good Eats or Good Reads, but the important thing of course is that Guerrilla Communication is Good for your brand. So get your healthy dose of Guerrilla Communication.

Creative page turner

To promote DHL international courier services, a very creative print ad was created in Shanghai. A quick turn of the page and the package is delivered. Who said print was dead?

Nice stuff, but what...

Very nice video on youtube shows an extreme gamer playing the Sony PS3 with an Epson projector. But what is being marketed here? The Epson projector? The PS3 console/game? Or maybe just the extreme gamer dude?

A few Super Bowl thoughts

While watching the Super Bowl last night a few things stuck out. Maybe as an industry insider my expectations are different from an average consumer, but altogether one has to admit that the game was way more exciting than the ads. Plus it was quite surprising that there were quite a few fairly sexist ads, lead by Dodge with their Charger ad. Do these brands not understand that females have quite a bit of purchasing power that is steadily growing? That being said, there were a few ads that made positive impressions and the Coca-Cola Simpson's ad was the best ad of the night. Plus the coach's Gatorade shower at the end works out as quite some nice guerrilla marketing for that brand

Inclusion defined

At the Wake Forest Marketing Summit I met Ronald Parker the Senior VP Chief Global Diversity and Inclusion Officer and we really seemed to have quite a few thoughts and ideas in common. Upon swapping business cards I noticed that his card had braille information embossed and thought that this is truly inclusion defined. Very nice stuff indeed.
